Activity 6.2a: Comparing Plants and Animals (50 min)

Students synthesize their learning to compare a growing tree and a growing child.

Note: There are two options for this activity, 6.2a and 6.2b. In 6.2a, students will trace carbon atoms in animals (based on learning from the Animals Unit) and in plants. In 6.2b, students will develop a summary explanation for plants. We recommend teaching one of the two options based on what units you have previously taught and the type of review that would be most useful for your students.
